We are a collective of licensed female therapists who provide mental health therapy to adults in an individual format or a couples format. Our therapy is 100% online and has been since 2017. We use HIPAA compliant software that will ensure your privacy and confidentiality throughout your time with us. Our therapy sessions are 50-minutes long and are video calls or phone calls. To learn more about our clinical team click here. We offer therapy seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
We use a modern holistic approach to our work. We believe that each person has his or her own experiences and ways of living life and so pull from a range of theoretical orientations to provide each client with a customized treatment plan. We are nonjudgemental, warm, and collaborative in our approach to our work with you. Therapy will feel like a conversation with an old friend rather than a stuffy cold doctor’s office.
There are two ways to pay for your mental health support with Smart Talk: private pay and insurance. All of our sessions are 50-minutes long. Each option has it’s pros and cons as are explained below.
Private pay is a very popular option and these are our rates for 2021:
- Individual Therapy Initial Assessment: $160
- Individual Therapy Session: $130
- Couple’s Therapy Initial Assessment: $200
- Couple’s Therapy Session: $160
There are many benefits when you choose private pay but the biggest benefit is privacy of your health information. Since you are paying out of pocket for your services we will not have to provide your insurance company with a mental health diagnosis. The main cost will of course be a financial cost as you will be paying out of pocket for your services. However, we accept HSA and FSA cards so with good financial planning you can prepare yourself for this health care cost annually.
Our entire clinical team is in-network with Cigna. This means that if you have Cigna you can use any of our providers. Our California based clinical team is also in-network with Kaiser Permanente as well as HealthNet / MHN. So if you are in southern California then we can directly bill your insurance for you.
The primary benefit of using your insurance is a reduce financial cost since you will most likely only have to pay a co-pay. The biggest cost for using your insurance is that we will need to provide your insurance company with a mental health diagnosis as well as other information such as dates of service, who attended the session, etc… In order to find out exactly what your insurance covers simply email firstname.lastname@example.org with the name of your insurance, your full name, your date of birth, and your subscriber number so that we can check your benefits prior to start of therapy. We can only offer this service to clients who have Cigna, Kaiser Permanente, or HealthNet / MHN.
